T-Beam programming available at my QTH near Welshpool. My email is on QRZ.com. Photo of the board would be good as there are many variations.

Anyone thinking of doing 4m, 6m or 23cm during the GW SOTA weekend ? My Alinco DJ-G7T (23cm FM) has only had one or two outings, and I’ve never had a 23cm S2S.

I will have 6m capability (ish). No proper antenna but could probably whip up a quick vertical or dipole on summit. Weather dependant reall depends on how much gear is taken, but tend to take reels of wire for on summit antenna construction when planning on a long day out.

Wonder if the quansheng will do 23cm?

I can do 6m and 23cm if the weather is OK. 6m was good yesterday afternoon.
IC9700s are more fair weathered than me.

Apprently it receives but is a bit deaf, and the output is about 1 nW

GW SOTA S2S party - panorama prints

Hi all

As you probably know, Cathy accompanies me on many of my SOTA activations and if the wx is suitable (rare this year) she engages in landscape photography when walking and while I’m on air.

This year she has been making panoramas, and has made framed prints of a number of SW and MW SOTA locations. They are about 25*10 inch overall size, in good quality modern frame.

We’ll bring half a dozen along to the Hog roast - one will be a raffle prize, and if anyone wants one for their wall, they can take one away for the cost of the materials -Ā£20 plus a Ā£5 SOTA donation, so Ā£25 each.

Cheers

Looks like I’m going to need a bigger rucksack Peter, either that or get my self a donkey. I think I’m going to take the 857D (or 818 if the wx isn’t good), the Alinco (23cm), Wouxan (4m), LoRa tracker and a variety of antennas.

As I failed to reach 1k activator points by just 2 points last weekend, it’ll also be my MG activation; so I think a nice single malt might find it’s way in there as well.

Good luck with the activation Dave for MG.

Are you doing anything big i.e. a 10 pointer, or are you going for an easy 2 pointer…?

We’ll be out somewhere if the weather allows, so may catch you on air if we can.

Thanks Simon. I’ve posted to do Cadair Berwyn (GW/NW-012),.as it’s smack bang in the middle of all the LoRa iGate/digirepeaters that have popped up all over North Wales, Mid Wales, the Welsh Borders and Cheshire. I’ll look forward to a S2S if you make it out. If you do, and your have a LoRA tracker, don’t forget to bring it
Dave

P.S - hope you will be pleased with the microphone…It was posted Wednesday morning

Cheers Dave, we hope to test it this weekend. The FT-818 has sold, so it’ll be the first outing for the new KX-2. Assuming the rain stops, that is… Our target is Foel Goch GW/NW-039.

Change of plan Everyone! Myself and and Andy (M7BOA) have decided to operate from G/SP-001 - Kinder Scout as opposed black hill as we proposed, it seems Denby Dale RC are also going to Blck hill as we had planned, and they will have more and more powerful gear than us, so were stepping aside!

We will be at the trig point at SK076893 QRV from 0930 on VHF FM and HF SSB…

My alerts have been changed accordingly

Thanks
