SYBO - any interest?

I’m wondering if this will attract as much interest as QRPTTF.
Unfortunately the date clashes with other plans I have, although there’s a possibility I may be able to activate a couple of GI summits that day.
It would be nice to have some SYBO weather

Just read the rules, and find myself uncomfortable with an event that rewards operating weather deemed to be “dangerous” with a higher multiplier.

I very much doubt this will attract the sort of interest that the more well-considered QRPTTF did.

SYBO looks like an interesting event.

I’ll be on Isle of Wight G/SE-008 looking out for this one, and will be trying out my new homebrew 1/2 wave end fed and tuning unit. Hope it does the business.

That tin has some serious street cred Robert! Hope it all works out okay.

Pity the event isn’t a fortnight later - I could have bagged myself a decent multiplier from down in CT/AL. Last year it was 32C / 65% RH which was comfortable “shorts” weather.

Hi Gerald

Most of those types of tobacco tins don’t have hinged lids, otherwise it was destined for the bin. Your other comment was hilarious  hope your message wasn’t censored.

Bet it rains in GB during the SYBO event …

GL to you in CT/AL will listen out for you.

No Robert , I decided to take it off myself after considering that some might not have the same sense of humour that I have. As for the weather, had the rules required operating in the fashion that I referred to, then it would without doubt be my good fortune to be out in horizontal driving sleet. Somehow I doubt that I would adopt my usual “on the knees, crouching down” stance under such conditions!!!

I’ve just constructed a feedline choke to take with me to CT/AL. I am hoping it will stop me getting RF burns off the key like I did last year. The proposed bands are 14, 18 and 21MHz. Hope to work you from the summits.
