Depending where you look, today SFI is about 90 with SSN no more than 25. Kp between 0 and 2.
I worked Massachusetts on 10m and Argentina on 15m. With so few sunspots I wouldn’t have expected either. But that’s the beauty of the hobby - you never know what might happen.
There are many days like that, great DX signals from Europe calling
the American SOTA stations. Many times they are stronger here on the west coast than the SOTA activators. Elsewhere on the bands (15 and 20) there are few or no DX stations. I think a lot of the times the propagation is good but there just arent any stations active on CW and SSB, but there are plenty on FT8. Not good.
In VK, we’re still seeing “almost daily” TEP 6 mtr openings to Japan. The openings are weaker, shorter and have smaller footprints at both ends, but, still! Lots to learn about this low SFI stuff!
