Stipperstones parking

Looking at the parking options for Stipperstones, from what I see, the parking is basically parking up on the triangle of grass at the base of the hill..Is this still the done thing?

Cheers

Hi John,

There’s a very nice proper tarmac car park at SO369977, accessed from the adjacent minor road.

Park here: Google Maps

or here: Google Maps (longer walk)

The road from Bridges (Long Mynd side) to the nature reserve car park is due to be closed next week for resurfacing.

Hi John,

There are indeed two nice car parks for Stiperstones, one on the East side, and one over the shoulder on the West just up from the visitor centre.

The “triangle of grass” sounds more like Heath Mynd G/WB-007, a nearby summit…..?

Thanks Gerald…But as G4AZS pointed out….I am getting my G/WBs mixed up and I am indeed thinking of WB-007 but reading the wrong hill information…. while listening to YouTube….
No multitasking going on here!

 In that case, yes, the triangle is more or less the only nearby option. It is quite tight, but one car can be fitted on with care!

I have often parked there, but did once park at the farm on the way up the lane. I got chatting to the farmer, who said “oh, you don’t want to park there, the cows will buffet your car, leave it here in the yard”. I did so on that occasion, but haven’t liked to bother them since, and I haven’t suffered any cow damage yet…

Cheers. I don’t want cows giving my Landy any loving!
Seems wrong to park up in the middle of what looks like a small turning area.

It is a bit odd but it is pretty remote and you’re unlikely to have any competition. I took my little Yaris when I went last summer as i was a bit worried but it fitted on fine.

My Landy is a bit bigger than your Yaris…
