Collaboration with Paul, VK3HN, has resulted in several hardware projects related to SOTA and POTA. It is time to publish them on a website spota-labs.com
The name SPOTA stems from the development of a single-channel CW transceiver. My question back then was: How do I manage to get into a QSO on a fixed frequency? The answer was simple: by getting a „spot“ via my beloved SOTA or POTA—or „SPOTA“ for short.
The SPOTA-LABS project began when Paul (VK3HN) asked—kindly yet persistently—about the development status of my SPOTA ONE. I had actually already abandoned the prototype, as the prospect of building it using „Manhattan-style“ construction (without a printed circuit board) held little appeal.
A friendship quickly developed following our initial contacts. Paul is highly experienced in PCB design, and this opened up a whole new world for me—marking a major milestone in my history as a hobbyist.
That is how our first joint project SPOTA ONE came to be.
This site serves solely to document our DIY projects. There are no commercial intentions whatsoever.
