Special event station - GB26EMF

Hello all,

Hope it is okay to post this here, but myself and a few other operators are planning to run the Special Event Station GB26EMF that is a station operating from the EMF festival during the period 16-19 July.

Electromagnetic Field is a festival that attracts those with an inquisitive mind, think hackers, artists, geeks, crafters, scientists and engineers. A lot of amateur radio operators do participate in the festival already, but it is good to promote the hobby by means of a special event station where it can be seen in-action.

We do not have a set schedule, just operating when volunteer operators are free and not enjoying the talks or other fun activities at the festival, but plan to make a good amount of QSOs.

If any SOTA participants are attending and want to take part in the special event station, feel free to visit us at the AMSAT UK village where we will be based. Whether it’s for 5 minutes or 5 hours, anyone can take part :slight_smile:

We plan to be doing eQSLs, sorry no paper QSL cards.

73 for now and hopefully will be able to make some QSOs with you during the event!

Despite my best efforts, I failed to get tickets for me and my daughter this time :frowning:

I’m hoping my talk proposal gets accepted so we can get tickets :crossed_fingers: I’ll definitely come and see the special event station if I am there. If we don’t get to go, we’re planning to head to North Wales for the weekend for some walking and SOTA, so maybe will get to work GB26EMF.

Ooh yeah I managed to get mine on the first release but it was crazy how fast they sold out. Hope your talk gets accepted and I’ll definitely aim to listen in if it does :slight_smile:
