Hope folks don’t mind me dropping this in here. I just wanted to share some information on a special callsign I applied for from Comreg which was approved today.
I will have the call sign EI0WAAAW for the month of April 2026. This is to mark World Autism Awareness / Acceptance Week from April 1st to 7th (as well as other dates, events etc throughout the month).
I’ve received interest from some experienced groups in EI keen to help me put together a little mini event so hopefully I can get something arranged - if all else fails I will just fly solo and do my best with the gear I have to hand.
Just wanted to get the word out and I hope folks might take part (I believe other callsigns might be set up worldwide too for related events).

Just an update, I have made a QRZ page for the special call and also provided some more information. EI0WAAAW will operate at a number of dates across April and with multiple operators.

20m SSB at 100w via ATAS/891.
20m SSTV 14.230 at 100w via ATAS/891.
2m FM 145.500 call then QSY.
2m SSTV 144.500 TX 3 times. No RX.
70cm FM 433.500 call then QSY.
70cm SSTV 433.400 TX 3 times. No RX.
SSTV transmit will follow after I work 270 FM. I’ll spot on PoLo and Pota.app site.
Short activation but would love to make QSO’s if possible. If anyone receives the SSTV image I would be absolutely overjoyed to see results if anyone successfully receives it.
Yesterday I made 2 contacts on 2m FM and also transmitted the SSTV image. @EI5KO kindly mentioned he was going to try and capture it so hopefully he was successful.
