Out of interest when using the option to add a spot and then using the GPS option to determine the summit, does this take into account if you are in the AZ or not?
Cheers

Hi John,
I don’t see how it could as the AZ is not a set distance from the lat/long point, rather a distance down from the summit - 25 vertical metres, so AZs are all kinds of stange shapes.

I think it just picks the summit closest to your current GPS location?
No, I think it’s within 500m horizontally off the top of my head.
EDIT: 2km.
Where & what is this option on Sotawatch, please? Not heard of it before. 73 John
Ah, thanks, John, I hadn’t seen that before.
I sometimes use the Tracker option on Sotagoat to tell me if I’m in the Activation Zone and/or how far it is to the summit.

No probs John. Is Sotagoat only for Apple?
I wasn’t sure if the software was able to work out your height vs summit height and work out if you are in the AZ or not
Just remember that most of these apps are only suggesting you are in the AZ… you need to look at the map and your position as it’s not just based on height.
That I don’t know, I only know it still works on my old iPhone 6s ( for now, at least!) 73 John
Yes, SOTA Goat is for iOS only. If you are looking for something similar for Android, check out ‘SOTA Activator’ by @AF7QD
And remember what Andy said:
