Just completed the activation of #005 (Smith Mesa, Utah; 5,777 feet) yesterday, 11 April.
Operated QRP with an ICOM 703 and homebrew vertical utilzing 40 meters (CW and SSB), 30 and 20 CW.
Logged 25 QSOs, had a load of fun (my first activiation for the SOTAUSA group) and plan on activating three more over the coming summer:
- Sand Mountain, Utah (approximately 5,000 feet; probably in mid-May)
- Cedar Breaks Mountain (10K feet, mid-July)
- Brian Head Summit (11K feet, mid-August)
Hope to work at least one Eu station on 20 meters from Cedar Breaks or Brian Head as the elevation out to be helpful!
