Sotagoat has started crashing/exiting when alerts is selected. I hadn’t been using it for a while but noticed the problem yesterday. Anyone else having this problem? Is there a workaround? I will be using sotl.as in the meantime but prefer to keep safari available for other purposes.

Yes same here, I assumed it was because I use an iPhone 6s, rather old kit now.
Same reason I assume, why I can’t call up the database on my phone & also why, possibly, the points value of each hill doesn’t show on my Sotawatch screen.
Edited-alerts now working for me also. Thanks for sorting this out. 73 John

Upcoming IT Changes - Mon 28th Oct 0000 UTC (Part 2)

This is fixed. Found another bug, and RBNHole is now pushing spots. As per other thread, I have put in a thin translation layer, which seems to have resolved some client issues (eg, SOTA Goat and VK Port-a-Log). If I notice particular IPs hammering the translation layer, I will block and notify as required.

As has been hinted in several threads recently, there are upcoming changes to the SOTA IT systems, that will go live on 28th Oct 2024 at or about 0000 UTC. These changes are substantial from the back end, and will require a bit of work to deploy, but hopefully should not require much actual outage time for the systems affected. I posted a spot today with SOTAGoat, but it ended up showing as TEST on the SOTAWatch website. It was a 145.500 FM spot.

Although perhaps it didn’t work as I put in 145.5 as the frequency and not 145.500?

I’m seeing a lot of test spots right now from some W4V folks… makes me wonder if they are using SOTA Goat.

Looks like something is broken… when I look at spots in SOTA Goat, they look ok but on SOTAWatch they are all test spots.

Yes probably the case. It shows fine in the app, which is why I only noticed when I got home.

Best to use sotawatch or sotlas website for now.
