I tried to login to Sota watch3, but the site would not accept my current name and password that I use for Sota watch 2. Do I need to set up a new account to get into Sota watch3?

No, use your DB login. Your DB login will become the single login you need to access all the SOTA sites. It works for some but not all yet.
