SOTAWATCH 3 SPOTS has stopped updating every 3 minutes on my Windows 10 Laptop. I’m using Firefox; that may make a difference. It’s updating ok on my Android Tablet.
I can nudge it by changing ‘latest 50 spots’ to ‘Latest 20 spots’ and then back again every 3 mins!!
It’s been like this for a few days. Perhaps Ive changed a setting?
Working absolutely fine here on Firefox. I guess there is another problem happening.
A few minutes observation here shows SW3 appears to be behaving as it has done on this W10 system.
I am watching SW3 in Firefox and also my SOTA cluster admin console. Both systems talk to the same API. The cluster checks once every minute for new spots like SW3 and updates its clients when there is a new spot. SW3 checks once/minute and updates the UTC and local times at the top of the page and the spots if there are new ones.
With no filters set, there’s enough activity there is a spot every minute. So SW3 is updating a lot. I then turn on a filter so only 80m spots are shown. The UTC and local times update once per minute but there are no new spots appearing but I do see new spots in the cluster.
I am saying that for me, SW3 is working correctly so it’s likely to be something your end. Can you observe SW3 for a few minutes and check the clock changes once per minute?
Yes, definetly my end. Tried using Google Chrome and that’s working fine, BTW The clock in the faulty Firefox ‘SotaWatch 3’ program updates every minute as it should but still no Latest 50/20 etc updates unless I nutge it. Guess Ill use Chrome until I find the problem.
BTW when I opened Chrome, it sent a message if I wanted to cancel ‘Ham radio updates’ or something similar, as it was no longer used! whatever that was about?
Just check which SW3 filters you have select in your Firefox setup.
see if it works from a private browser window on FF, if it does, I would clear cache/data for sotawatch.sota.org.uk.
All Band and Mode filters ticked as with Chrome. Settings are identical too.
