Hi all,
we know well the APRS2SOTA gateway developed by G0LGS Stewart, it works very well.
However, I am wondering if there is a kind of a SOTA to APRS gateway. It can be very handy if we receive SOTA spots by the APRS instead using some internet dependent software.
Is there anything similar ?

If you mean receiving spots by APRS messages, this would totally overload the APRS network in my humble opinion, and very complicated to setup I think.

I think if you put SOTA or *SOTA into your APRS program, then you should be
able to receive APRS msgs sent to SOTA. I just did this last week when KJ6NHF
was activating near Lake Tahoe. I was able to send him msgs after I received
the initial SOTA msg. Is this what you’re referring to? I was using UIView
connected to the internet at the time, and KJ6NHF was on a summit activating.

Hello Todd,
well, it was not my initial idea. I thought about receiving SOTA announcements in my APRS terminal (I use APRSdroid) but your idea seems much better than mine, at least it reduces a lot the traffic in APRS.
It was scheduled a SOTA activation today but due to high UV it was canceled. I was wondering to try out again the APRS2SOTA system, it will next time.
