Sota makes friends

That was a nice encounter on my back from DM/NS-107 Maybe a snack was promised.
When I got into the car and suddenly disappeared, the wild boar was visibly sad and trotted away peacefully.
It might have been fed by people before, grrrrh😖

Nice to have a variety of SOTA Buddy’s some times.
Least he was happy to see you sometimes those guys get a bit aggressive.
Regards Chris.

Who would expect boars in Saupark (Sow Park)?
Did you spot any wolf, too? Seems, this scene is close to Wolfsbuchen (Wolves’ Beeches).

He definitely reminds me of a couple of SOTA activators I’ve met :stuck_out_tongue:

My brother-in-law hunts these. There’s nothing to beat Wild Boar sausage along some fresh bread and Truffle butter. And, of course, a glass of a nice red to wash it down.

With a few treats…

That would have been the chance for the beginning of a wonderful friendship

… and it would have kept unwelcome visitors away from you during the activation.

Hi Chris ,
nice video from inside the car, I think.
Unknown sounds in the wood make me always coutsious.
I beware of animals, that don´t flee.

The badger seen on my picture, was also suspect for me
when I went down from Poludnig, OE/KT-095.
Have never seen such an animal in daylight.

For years, I recognize more and more birds with their songs.
Thanks to the app "Birdnet "

@DL1CR this little guy sat with me while I activated 80m SSB on top of Wales/Englands highest SOTA summit, Snowdon GW/NW-001 on a night activation :grinning: I bet he’s climbed Snowdon more times than any person

Hi Ben,
what a nice guy. Sota also seems to be popular in the animal kingdom.

On our way to the Ecksberg summit, we realized that someone had beaten us to it. A boar with her kids. Uwe DK8OA and I were courteous and didn’t get too close when taking photos and looked for a place on the edge of the activation zone.

I encountered a wild boar at the foot of Tsukubasan (or Mt. Tsukuba, JA/IB-003) in February this year. It was browsing in a bush. Local people are suffering from agricultural damage caused by wild boars.

You guys meet nice cuddly new friends. I met (ie nearly stepped on) this guy on Knob Mtn in Virginia:

That is a timber rattlesnake, thicker than my forearm. He did me the courtesy of rattling at me instead of biting.

Hope you sold them the photo for a good price.

Michal, unbelievable. I would give a lot for such an encounter. What a sweet guy. But I would definitely have respect.

Sota makes you happy!

Best regards, Chris
