SOTA F/MC-191 + VIDEO by F8DZY/P

Hi all,
First best wishes for 2008 in late because I was in mission for job till 2 days ago and no internet access.
Secondly my apologies for being 45 min late yesterday on SOTA activation but it was a bad bad afternoon : after 2h30 driving (238 kms from my departure point), the road access to the summit was closed ! I was redirected on a road absolutely wrong, then I decided to go back in order to find another access, and doing this in a field entry, my car bogged down and slided on the right during 5 (very long) meters ! I managed to exit by a reverse operation on 200 meters (through the field), then arrived to a very muddy road, had to find some wooden fragments to put under car wheels and finally exit this hell !
I drove to a place about 50m down the summit and so decided to set there (I couldn’t go back home now ! HI).
During the station set up, my fiber glass fishing rod broke at the middle !! Aaargh… What a bad day !
That matter, I called CQ with my G5RV Junior at 2.50meter height !
So all my congratulations to the 10 Chasers contacted (with very good reports anyway) ! (including DL4FDM/P on S2S !)
No response on 7 SSB and 10 CW.
I will add the link of the video when ready, and post it there.

In reply to F8DZY:

We all have bad days sometimes Chris!!

Thanks for the 40m contact. I heard you say you were QSYing to 30m, so I listened for you there, but didn’t hear anything here in Southern England.

In reply to F8DZY:

Salu Chris,

I am sorry to hear about your unlucky day
and surprised about your good signal
with the “mini-G5RV”!
You dont have to buy a new fibreglass

Many thanks for the nice s2s-QSO
between F/MC-191 and DM/HE-102.

Condx were difficult yesterday afternoon
and I was lucky because some regular-chasers
were waiting for you on the qrg when I
called cq-sota.

I think we could write a complete book
about things happend on SOTA-peditions,
like fibreglass-crash, roads closed,
keyer left at home, gloves left at home,
crazy animals, etc. hi

Now things only can be better in 2008 !

Vy73 sota4ever et à bientôt
Fritz DL4FDM,HB9CSA
