Dear Sota friends,

Rhodes Island here we come!

If all goes well I will make an activation from the next SOTA references during our holiday stay on the island Rhodes - Greece - EU-001.

Tuesday - 03/08/2010 - 10.30 UTC - SV/AG-002
Wednesday - 04/08/2010 - 10.30 UTC - SV/AG-052
Thursday - 05/08/2010 - 10.30 UTC - SV/AG-055
Friday - 06/08/2010 - 10.30 UTC - SV/AG-054 - ( If possible ) - 13.00 UTC - SV/AG-053 ( Both short activations)
Saterday - 07/08/2010 - 10.30 UTC - SV/AG-053 ( If not possible on Friday )

QRG:14.285 - SSB - 7.118 – SSB - + QRM

Pse take a note about the time and QRG! Sri … these can be different as specified in the sotawatch2 this according to local circumstances such as Wx, (HOT) temperature, long walk/drive distance, practicability, difficulty walk, foreign location, QRM, etc … ect …
I hope you understand these remarks,
I’m going to send an SMS self spot when I’m active to the SotaWatch2 and to some Belgian friends.
As before, I’m always QRP (FT817-5W) so maybe you will have tips your ears.
Occasionally I will be sometimes QRV from the beach, especially at late evening to have a conversation back home with my son Nick ON3DSN, brother Paul ON6AW and some friends but also to activate EU-001 in holiday style.
Listen attentively when I call. The call will be "CQ CQ de SV5/ON6DSL/P on EU-001”.
For Summits On The Air I call “CQ CQ SOTA de SV5/ON6DSL/P”.

Give me a big pile up at all the activations as possible … certainly I will be happy.
I you work/hear me PSE - you may spot me on the DX clusters. I have no opportunity to do that over there.

Hi Luc,

Im very Jealous of you, not just going to my Home Island, but also activating the summits!!

Watch out for Scorpions on AG-002!

I have walked the summits but not been able to activate them, when I get my full call I will be following in your footsteps.

I was desperately hoping conditions would allow me to work you, but alas no QSO from the Home land this time.

Hi Tony,

I work a few stations on all the summits but there was no super good propagation for QRP on the activation moments.

It was a nice vavation with very HOT temps, each day between 35 and 40 degrees. Fortunately there was an occasional breeze, sometimes it was a little too hot for us. But we enjoyed the nice weather and the island. The rental car has brought us 822 km far over the entire island from north to south and from east to west and that in 5 days time.

Scorpions we have not seen on any mountain.
But many … butterflies (moths)…you know.

We have taken 956 pictures. Who am I to processing in a 1 1/2 h video for home use.
