On May 17th, the picturesque town of Tortosendo, in central Portugal, hosted the Annual SOTA CT Meeting, an event that brought together amateur radio operators from across the country.
Organized by Jacques Diegues CT2IXX in partnership with Paulo Teixeira CT2IWW, the meeting welcomed around two dozen participants from various regions.
The event, part of the annual activities promoted by the Summits on the Air (SOTA) CT program, reinforced its core values of camaraderie, knowledge exchange, and outdoor radio activities.
Throughout the day, participants attended presentations covering amateur meteorology projects, altitude measurement techniques, transceiver modifications, and multi-program log submissions, reflecting the technical and collaborative spirit of the amateur radio community.
Beyond the discussions, the gathering provided an opportunity for informal networking and socializing, including a lunch featuring the village of Cortes do Meio.
As the event concluded, participants expressed enthusiasm for future collaborations, with initial plans already shaping up for the 2026 meeting, aiming to further strengthen Portugal’s SOTA community.
The CT SOTA team expresses gratitude to speakers, organizers, and supporters, highlighting the importance of these meetings in promoting continuous learning and engagement among amateur radio operators.
