SOTA Contact webpage out of order?

Hi,

I just wanted to inform the MT about some new spam on the summits info page (VK1/AC-014) and therefore filled out the SOTA contacts web page.
When I pressed the button “Send message” I got the errormessage “This web page is not available” (http://sota.plato.cybus.co.uk/Contact/confirmation).

Any explanations?

Thanks, Stephan. Your message actually came through OK, twice at 1916 UTC.

In reply to DM1LE:

Stephan, one of the reasons we are moving to a new version of SOTAwatch and reflector is the old version consists of all sorts of functions and services added over the years. The result is when servers change, there are many bits that need changing and sometimes some slip through and don’t get changed.

The error message you saw is to do with that but as Brian says, the message does get through. Jon will update it when he gets a chance.

Hello Brian and Andy,

thank you for the information. I was just unsure, whether the message has been sent, so I pressed the “send message” button again, with the same result.

Now it’s all clear to me.

I guess the topic can now be deleted.

There is no Shop contact facility on the contact page, only all the MT or the individual MT members.

Hi Andy and the group

Sorry for being a pain. From your reply, I haven’t explained myself very we’ll, though “I” knew what I was trying to say (story of my life)

This is a similar contact problem with a part of SOTA but slightly different to the original.

  1. Went to SOTA shop
  2. Clicked on “Contact Us”
  3. Taken to a page that has a map on one side, and an web page based form on the other.
  4. Fill in the form
  5. Click “Send”
  6. Which brings up my email, via the email program,
  7. Double check. (I could be a bit unclear in what I’m trying to say)
  8. Click “Send”
  9. Email goes to “sotamt@yahoo.com
  10. Where I get the following return email from yahoo groups

So, yes it’s not the SOTA Contact page but it is SOTA related of a contact problem.

Hope I’ve been a bit more clearer in describing the problem.

Also can I say thank you for all the effort & time that is expended and frustrations, that the team members deal with to keep this outstanding (& addictive) awards system afloat. And all volunteered time too.

Just tried it Phil. It does as you say. Must have been faulty for ages!

Shows how often that facility is (not) used. When the new shopping site was launched I asked people to report any faults but didn’t think it would take nearly 18 months to filter through. This was carried through from the previous site as well so is practically ancient!

Anyway, both links now fixed - the links page takes you to the SOTA website contact page and the Contact Us page sends an email to SOTA Awards.
