SOTA Audio alert?

Hi all
In the dim recesses of my mind I seem to remember someone came up with an audio alert for when a new spot was placed on Sotawatch. I can’t find it however. Am I imagining it? If not can someone point me in the right direction please?
Cheers

Thanks for the replies and yes I was actually thinking of both of them!
Webmon doesn’t want to install, Windows 7 compatibility issues perhaps?
The F5NEP version just “pings” every minute regardless of spots. No security warning my end though.
Any other suggestions?

Hello
You can try this one

I am using it with no problems.

Yes it pings every minute (no choice like webmon); you can also choose to watch bands and modes.

Pse can you explain what is a “web page exploit” ? here translating problem… sri.
So I’ll give the information to the webmaster.

Thanks Alain.
I am a bit confused though. If it pings every minute how does it help me with Sota? How can I get it to tell me when there is a new spot?
Cheers

May be one minute late… the activator sould be still there;-)

I know that with webmon, one can choose the ping frequency, but don’t know if it goes less than one minute.

I also receive a malware warning when trying to access this page. This happens on 2 different computers; one running AVG and the other MacAfee.
The message is that the page wants to run an ‘exploit link to a known exploit site’.
Not sure what it all means, but as 2 different Virus - Malware scanners highlight that there may be a problem, I am happy not to proceed any further!

p.s. Thanks for the SOTA - PSK contact on 30 mtrs the other day!

In reply to GM0AXY:

Thanks Ken,

I send the info to the webmaster.

About our last PSK QSO, sorry about the bad keying… not easy on the ground and with a so little keyboard with frozen fingers… I’ll have to work on my macros to improve the QSO. And I’m a beginner in PSK… but I was glad to make 11 PSK QSO from NO-042.

After a trial period on the different options I am using Mario DC7CCC’s suggestion. A good all round package!

Hi Q

Running Webmon on my Win7 PC without any issues. Maybe your firewall or virus software?

Regards Steve GW7AAV

In reply to GW7AAV:
Hi Steve
Thanks for trying it out. Its not a firewall etc. problem. It just doesn’t unpack properly. I get error messages as soon as it starts to install. I did try downloading from several sites with the same result.
A bit odd, but I’m coping without it!
