The Valley of Tannheim – or “Tannheimer Tal” in German – is located in the Austrian state of Tyrol, just at the border to Germany, between the Allgäu region and the famous Neuschwanstein Castle. The valley lies at an altitude of about 1,100 m.a.s.l. and has been awarded several times to be one of Austria’s hiking paradises.
We’ve spent 10 beautiful days there in July and were happy that these holidays could take place despite corona. SOTAmaps reveals many summits and we could see most of them due to favorable weather conditions.
It’s like cooking: a good cook book makes the start easier. So enjoy my activation report for 12 summits around our location Grän. It may help you to gain access to another maybe unknown region for your own SOTA adventures!
