Just a quick note to say that several members of Furness Amateur Radio Society will be activating Gummer’s How G/LD-050 this evening, 27th May 2026, in honour of Rob Hannan G4RQJ who sadly went SK in 2025. Should be on air from around 19:15 BST.
We will be operating with the special event callsign of GB4RQJ and will be active on HF and above.
Good to get GB4RQJ in the log twice from G/SP-017 this evening on 2M and 23cm.
Rob was my first ever sota contact on 26th May 2003. He was on Black Coombe (with Audrey of course) and I had been kicked out of the house while a “non-surprise” birthday party was set up so I drove up Rivington (local high spot) with a 2m mobile set.
