I’d like to propose the challenge to take a step back from SOTA activations for a short time. Many of us dedicate a significant amount of energy and time to activating summits, sometimes at the expense of other priorities. SOTA is a rewarding and enjoyable pursuit, but it’s important to remember that balance is essential.
I see this as an an opportunity to step back, recharge, and focus on other aspects of life (spending time with family, tackling long neglected projects etc.). A little pause can bring fresh perspective and renewed enthusiasm when we return.
If this challenge gains traction, we might even turn it into an annual tradition, perhaps with some flexibility in the future — for instance, in 2028.
Who’s willing to join me in taking a short break from SOTA?
Choose Life. Choose a job. Choose a career. Choose a family. Choose a big television, choose washing machines, cars, compact disc players and electrical tin openers…
I was once hospitalised for quite a few days. On the wall in my room there was a clock with an analogue dial for time and a mechanical digital display for the year, month and date.
I was amused to see it click over to 29 th Feb in a non leap year. It was even funnier when the next day came up as 30 th Feb and the next as 31 st Feb. Then it froze. This alarmed me as I was expecting to be discharged in the first week of March. Fortunate this clock did not determine the time for my part of the Universe and I was discharged.
Great idea! I just need to postpone for a short bit to take advantage of bonus point season, build my KX0R coupler, and maybe just a bit more time to wrap up the 300 odd points I need for MG2…then I swear Ill take that challenge
As far as I know already exist challenges like this consisting in refraining from smoking, alcohol, etc. So, thank your idea 3 days challenge will have stronger prestige.
