As stated above, my aim was to manage one QSO. I deliberately chose a no point(activated already this year) summit to take the pressure off, also Whernside is probably my quickest ā€˜home to topā€™ hill. Ingleborough is my nearest summit but the walk is longer. Another plus for Whernside is that itā€™s the highest summit around here :slight_smile: I was pleased to get the 8 QSOs, meaning that Iā€™d more than ā€˜qualifiedā€™

I appreciate the special effort for the QSO, itā€™s akin to what I do as I have no permanent station.

I have just looked up the German Club station, DF0WD, I worked on QRZ.
The photograph of their aerial explains how I managed a continental contact at 800km!
