As stated above, my aim was to manage one QSO. I deliberately chose a no point(activated already this year) summit to take the pressure off, also Whernside is probably my quickest ‘home to top’ hill. Ingleborough is my nearest summit but the walk is longer. Another plus for Whernside is that it’s the highest summit around here I was pleased to get the 8 QSOs, meaning that I’d more than ‘qualified’

I appreciate the special effort for the QSO, it’s akin to what I do as I have no permanent station.

I have just looked up the German Club station, DF0WD, I worked on QRZ.
The photograph of their aerial explains how I managed a continental contact at 800km!
