Some weird CW found on 40m

7055 is all propaganda songs now taking over the CW/Digi - just muscled in over another user. Sad.

EDIT: I spent a while there going through all signal samples and this one is not the actual sound, but about as close as I can find:

Possibly some sort of RTTY or data signal perhaps?

I’m hearing it right now on 7063. It’s 1650 UTC. Strong enough to give me trouble copying KX0R from Colorado. He must not be hearing it or he probably wouldn’t have chosen that frequency to activate his summit on. Interesting. That would lead me to believe the signal is coming from Asia. And now at 1700 UTC it’s gone.

Happened to listening very early this morning 1650Z or 2.50 AM local time. The frequencies 7041 7048 7063 7070 the morse/FSK is very strong. Easily 10 over 9 so must be running some power,

That’s a great link, very informative. Bookmarked for future visits!

I had a look at the latest Enigma 2000 (formerly Enigma) newsletter to see if anything was mentioned but a quick skim through didn’t reveal anything. That said Enigma 2000 is more geared towards numbers stations so perhaps may not have been a primary focus for their publication?

Latest July 2025 newsletter is linked below. Always a good read imho.
