SLAB-shop near Liverpool Airport?

LA1ENA, LA1KHA, LA1DNA and myself are planning a UK trip from 19 October to 24 October. We will activate summits and attend the GQRP mini convention.

Can anyone tell us if there is a shop nearby Liverpool Airport where we can buy some SLABs for our SOTA activations?

Hi, there might be other places nearby, but Maplins has a few stores in and around Liverpool. Check out http://www.maplin.co.uk/ and enter Liverpool in Store Locator.

I used to live in Liverpool near the airport…
The nearest Maplin store is some distance away. Not far from the airport is a large trading estate where there are some DIY stores. You may get a SLAB from them. (Sold for use in burglar alarms.)

Screwfix:

Both are on industrial estates so you would need to drive. You can order and collect from the store.

They seem somewhat expensive but just checked my supplier where I previously paid £7 for 7Ah SLABs and they are now £12.97 (Inc VAT) Ouch!!!

Or if you drive to Macclesfield and make Gun, The Cloud and Shining Tor your first activations in G land I can give you two 7ah SLAB’s.

I myself will not be home during your visit but a local pick up can be arranged if you wish?
