I’ve been making enhancements to the Petr OK2CQR version of Simple Fast Log Entry, and it is now available at M5TEA SFLE. It uses browser local storage to ensure that, on the same machine at least, you never loose anything as well as supporting multiple activity types (e.g. SOTA & POTA) with lots of additional enhancements.
More recently I finally took delivery of a Clockwork PI uConsole. A bit like a kickstarter you have to order one and wait for it to be delivered. Mine took the best part of a year. It is an open-sourced design handheld Raspberry PI based device with integrated screen, keyboard and lots of potential for expansion, with a particular emphasis on RF, for example the uConsole AIO V2 (RTL-SDR/LoRa/GPS/RTC/USB Hub/USB 3.0/RJ45 Ethernet):
Anyway I decided to create a Terminal User Interface (TUI) version of SFLE, this time compiled via rust to an executable so it can be run locally. There are a few niggles to iron out but it is mostly there.
If there are any other calculator nerds out there, you can find it here: M5TEA FX870P Emulator. I wrote a simplified version of the board game Sorcerers Cave for it (using AI) which is quite fun to play.
Whilst I’m on the subject of Sorcerer’s Cave, I now have a browser based version which is really quite addictive. There are still some gremlins in the multiplayer version, but the solitaire game is really well debugged now and solid. Best played on a laptop or tablet.
Tested SFLE (nice app!) but there are some problems:
Importing fle format .txt files fails when (any) data is in uppercase.
Weird behaviour on iOS (iPhone/iPad). No matter which browser you use, it is no possible to save any of the output files (ADI,CSV,etc). This works flawlessly on any android mobile/tablet I’ve tested on.
