Thanks for the settings. I plugged those in but alas no dice. I have both types of mic component and neither seem to work.
Also it doesn’t make any side tone with my Pico Paddle or VK3IL paddle. The QMX is a bit fussy it seems!

Have you gone into diagnostics (e.g via terminal) to see if the PTT and paddle inputs are being recognised?
Ah! Not tried that. I did try factory reset, diagnostics etc on the QMX itself but no joy. I’ll try tomorrow and have a look via terminal and see if that helps. Thanks for the steer!
Surprised the Pico Paddle doesn’t work on the QMX - at least not my one. The VK3IL I kind of understand. Both work on my KX2 so not an issue with either key.
My QMX was built in the factory at the end of 2024. I wonder does it need the so-called PTT Mod or is it unaffected? No panic, it’ll get sorted somehow. ![]()
It’s handy to see it on a computer screen. It’ll be good to know whether it’s receiving the input from your mic and/or paddle.
I read about the PTT mod - an even better reason to get the diagnostics screen up and see what’s what.
Sometimes the firmware can have some very odd default values when you install it too - so one has to go through various values/settings to be sure. Much easier on a computer screen.
My mic is home brew.
My Pico Paddle works fine with the QMX.

Definitely something up with my QMX then. I get clicks like it is trying to put out the sidetone, but nothing. Straight key is fine.
I’ll have a look in the terminal tomorrow for sure. Thanks so much all for your help. ![]()
