Scotland A85 Road Closure

The A85 trunk road between Lochearnhead and Lix Toll (i.e. Glen Ogle) has rolling road closures from the whole of July. This is to allow for resurfacing work. The actual details are vague but there will be escorted convoys running once every 2hrs when safe to do so. The advice is don’t try to get through, go round.

I discovered this the hard way today coming across sign advising the road was closed. No prior notice. The quickest diversion to bypass Glen Ogle is a 70mile/2+ hr detour around Loch Earn thence to Crief, Sma Glen to Aberfeldy. The back along Loch Tay to Killin then to Lix Toll. A total nightmare.

Please check road information before trying to drive around these parts for the rest of the month.
