HI Joerg, TNX for the great app. One question:
Seems there are 3 possible settings for SPOT SMS: North America, United Kingdom and Not used.
Is it possible to use the
http://gyalogradio.ham.hu/spotsms/index.php
spotsms gateway too?

Hi Joerg, your application is a great helper and I am very pleased that once again turn will work as it should, and I think I speak for all users, you are again many thanks for the correction.

Hello Viktor,
I sometimes get asked that. It is not a programming problem, but I’m sorry, due to security concerns I haven’t implemented that yet. If the HA sms service would use a technique to forward the spot without recognition the user passwords for sotawatch, then I will give it some thought.

Joerg, slightly off-topic. I did my weekly spam-filter check and found your email stuck there, you should have been white-listed after I replied to you but the filter decided to quarantine your mail. You have it sorted now anyway.

Hi Andy,
This is probably not your domain but you will know the answer.
Having installed the latest version of RRT I tested it via the internet and SMS. Both work fine, but while I was able to delete the test messages sent via the internet I cannot delete the SMS test messages. I would have liked to have done that so as not to leave my rubbish on the system. Have I missed something?

Hi Ron, I just tried to delete my test message sent by RRT but couldn’t find how to do it within RRT. Did you delete it using RRT or by using a web browser?
In reply to VK3XL:
Hi,
When I post via the web the listing shows an {edit} option and I can use that to correct summit refs etc in the spot or delete it. No one else would see my edit option no be able to delete it, except for the omnipowerful Andy.

When you post via RRT using the internet, the account AX3AFW posts the message using your password. The spot comes from you so you can delete it from the webpage when you log in. When you post via RRT using SMS, my SMS server (SMS or SMS_NA) posts the spot not you. That means you can’t delete it.
The upside is when you spot via SMS you don’t have to tell me your account details. I don’t want to know your account details for security reasons. The biggest one being there will be people who use the same password for SOTA as they use for their banking, trust me there will. So the less people who know your details the better.

Thanks Andy,understood now.
I’m old enough to have only used one password for absolutely every official, legal and financial transaction. We called it a “signature”. This month we say goodbye to signing for credit card transactions in VK. Credit cards now have a swipe facility that is limited to $100 per swipe. Or you use the PIN for bigger amounts. Cheques are still accepted but not in very good grace. Perhaps I’ll have to use “SOTA” for my pin. Ooops, now I can’t.
My first experience with direct banking came with my fortnightly salary being repeatedly paid into someone else’s account. And people wonder why I am a cynic?

Hallo Jörg,
I’m operating the HA SMS service. If you drop me a mail at ha5cqz@freemail.hu we could sort out how to support it in RRT.
