Hello activators,
I have been testing today the “rock antenna” when having activated the highest rocky hill in Zdarske vrchy (located in Czech-Moravian highland), ref OK/VY-001. I put my inverted v antenna for 40 meters without any separation on the flat vertex gneiss block. Gneiss “permitivity” and its lossy factors impaired the SWR and its final value was something about 1:2,5. Nevertheless, I decreased the output power of my FT-817ND down to 2,5W and got the same reports (42 CW QSOs on 40m) as usual when working with normally erected inverted v antenna.
