Retroactive activation?

Please forgive my ignorance, I’m still quite new to SOTA. I activated Short Mountain WMA (US-7015), wishing all the while that there was a SOTA summit in the WMA. While planning for tomorrow, I discovered that I was in the AZ of W8V/PH-126 “2619” and did not know it. Do my 12 POTA contacts count for a summit activation as well?

It is my understanding that it does as long as you were within the AZ.

Thanks! It seems that way, but didn’t want to assume too much. Please listen for me in the coming days… I’ll be activating in the W8V are through the weekend. Glad to meet another nova ham!
