Short and sweet.
If you’re not sure which summit you’ll activate, you can post an alert and change the summit posted AS LONG you don’t add the extended posting options, like S-2.
Once you added those extended posting options (that will extend the operating spotting functions, exemple S-2, up to 2 hours earlier) RBN will not accept change of summits, despite you change the summit on the alert.
The standard spotting window for a standard alert begins 1 hour before the alert’s ETA and ends 3 hours after its ETA.
Another way is to post VE2/QC-XXX in the alert and rely on spotters but I largely prefer the first option.
