Question: Continents and SOTA Associations

I’m sure I’m just showing my lack of general Amateur Radio knowledge… but is there an way of cross referencing SOTA Associations with their allocated continents. For example I’m thinking about Caribbean islands. Which ones are North America and which ones are South America, some are obvious I guess… but one should never assume!

Is there a separate SOTA continent for Antarctica?

I’m trying to add to my tally of EU, OC and AF (courtesy of the Spanish Canary Islands).

For someone who rather prides themselves on geographical knowledge… I failed to realise that Cyprus is in Asia! So it’s now on my list of holiday destinations.

I’ve tried Google but obviously I’ve failed to find the right form of words for the search.

I would start here:

https://dxmarathon.com/resources/countries/

Just trying to recall if the summitlist.csv has the continent included

Perfect! Why couldn’t I find that.

Thank you.

This is the ARRL list of DXCC entities and continents. Hopefully it agrees with the CQ DX Marathon list! As far as the WAC award goes it is more official.

I didn’t know this either. Only European countries can be members of the European Union, so, since Cyprus is an EU member, I’d always thought they must be in Europe. Morocco failed in its application to join as it’s in Africa. Presumably these rules are all open to interpretation…

Equally surprising is that the IA association counts as Africa, less surprisingly so does EA9, all useful to know for awards!

I think the name Isole Africane d`Italia is a bit of a giveaway though!
