QRZ logging and Portable ops

I have a few log books on QRZ
m0vaz
m0vaz/p
etc

When logging on QRZ for example and you are out portable SOTA/POTA or CQing from a hill etc
How do you log your locator on QRZ?
Do submit your log manually into the correct log book (like I do on QRZ) and then edit the locator square to be the square you are /p from or is there a better way?

Cheers

That’s what I have done… recently I’ve only been logging on SOTA Database (I have a backlog to catch up with on QRZ - if there’s an easier way I’d be keen to know).

Does it accept ADIF uploads?

I log on paper on the hill and then enter using FLE exporting ADIF which I upload to SOTA, POTA and Log4OM which uploads to LoTW. As well as the summit and POTA references I also use the correct locator for the summit.

This changes the locator for all the previous QSOs in that log too.

The QRZ logging system is basically broken for /P operation

I’m not doubting you - but for each logged QSO, I’ve clicked to expand the options, changing the locator for that specific QSO.

I’ve not checked to see if it’s changed the locator for other QSOs in my log though. Now I’m having babies… :see_no_evil_monkey:

I am not sure it does change for all.
They way I have been doing it (from a POTA export as ADIF import to QRZ)
Import the ADIF into the correct log book /p

The go into each record and the edit, edit the location (IO83kj or what ever) then save the record.
Go to the next and repeat.

I have sussed the import ADIF on QRZ. I am not sure which field (if any) in ADIF allows you to enter the IO locator

Maybe I need some form of ADIF editor that allows this field to be imported/has an field for it

thanks Gerald. I will have a play with an import

Try FLE. It correctly populates MY_GRIDSQUARE and correctly imports into Log4OM.

Thanks. Can I export to ADIF?
I don’t use Log4OM/LOTW

I refer the honourable gentleman to my previous answer.

So yes.

I installed FLE - not the interface I was expecting. Might take some getting used to.
