Portable mast advice (EU market) needed

Just dropping this here and saying you guys are amazing. I’m back from my first outing with the SOTABeams 7-meter mast which I bought based on your comments above, and there couldn’t have been a better test for it than today’s absolutely ridiculous wind on Galtymore and Greenane (activation report will follow later).

I am not good at estimating wind speeds, but what is the wind speed if a fit and tall man can barely stand? In any case the mast didn’t give in. Guyed with 3 lines, was wobbling and bending but didn’t break or topple.

Nice one! How did you get it shipped to EI?

They’re on stock at wimo. Wimo ships to Ireland without problems, I bought (too) many things there.

Just one thing to consider. This year I have started just plonking my SOTA Beams Carbon 6 mast on a stake pushed into the ground. Often not very far. I unscrew the bottom cap and just pop it onto the stake.

It’s stayed up in quite windy conditions.

It is sooooo quick to set up and pack away.

By the way I nicked this idea from Robert @M0RWX when we met up last year in FL/VO.

It is only in the ground this far… I usually try to manage about 50% more.
