Plastic encoder knob del Elecraft KX2

Tired of the Elecraft KX2’s plastic encoder knob? Here you have the solution. A suitable screw, nut and locknut. A plastic washer to make an endless. A small hole in the button to install the screw; and ready.
Enjoy!

For me original works OK.

Hardly use my VFO Knob across the bands, I have all my SOTA Spot Frequencies in memory channels so just change bands via Memory. Press and hold Band turn VFO knob to change frequency then touch any button to set Frequency you want to use.

“touch any button” is active also from different band
If I need small jump I can use the knob, in case of big jump I use KX2 input frq from keybord option.

Same here with my FT-817. I also suffered the tedious task of changing frequency by turning the small tunning know this rig has, until Brian @G8ADD gave me the great advise of storing the main operating frequencies during my activations in memories.
Once you get to the memory channel where you have 14.062 (for instance) you only have to turn the tunning knob to QSY a few Kc up or down in case the frequency in the memory channel is busy.

I must agree Guru the FT 817 knob is even smaller than the KX models, so memories are in my FT817 as well. I do like the quick tune select feature on the Yaesu rig for scooting across the band. But the extension to the KX knob is a good idea too and serves a good purpose.
