Extreme Red Heat Warning - 18/19 July 2022
Due to the MET Office Extreme Red Heat Warning, the National Park Authority will be undertaking a Direction(s) to close any open access land affected within the Peak District National Park when the Fire Severity Index (FSI) reaches the ‘Exceptional’ level. Access Land will reopen when the FSI reduces from an Exceptional level.
Note that this closure does not apply to public rights of way, only Access Land which is shown on OS 1:25,000 Explorer maps in a yellow wash or in a light green wash on woodlands.
All users are asked to be mindful of the increased and critical risk of fire at this time.
