As Andy said, it’s there, people can use it if they want to be more secure, but it’s not enabled by default. I see no good reason to turn it off either since no doubt some people are using it as intended.
Never underestimate the power of additional security and some people’s desire to use it at all costs, despite SOTA being barely confidential information
