To add a noticable comfort level inside a bothy bag, I had some thin material *(a piece of old parachute) sewn in at the end so I can sit on it. This keeps it firmly snug and with my back to the wind it reduces the wind ingress an awful lot. I’ve not bothered with any poles or anything but a small collapsable umbrella at the end I’m sitting at helps keep it from flapping around your head etc…
