Hi Jon,
Please consider using the Alert system of https://sotawatch.sota.org.uk/ to make your announcement. That’s how it is intended to be done.
Good luck with your activation and don’t forget to place a SPOT on sotawatch to make others find you on your frequency.
Btw today is CQ WW SSB so expect a fully packed 40 and 20m band. Best chances are on 17m and 12m. 60m is not permitted in OK as far as I know.

Hi Joe, thanks for the advice.
Unfortunately we made a very much last minute decision to do this activation, and by the time we picked up your message we were already QRV.
As luck would have it our first contact was S2S with a fellow Austrian station OE5JKL/P
We’ll spot ourselves properly next time!

Thanks Geoff,
We’re returning to SOTA after a long break, so have forgotten a lot of the protocols.
Good news is that my wife Sarka is very on board and indeed is a driving force behind our return to the fold.
I’m now being encouraged to try for a winter bonus on one of our local 10 pointer hills!
Hope to catch you on air sometime.
