OE5-SOTA Day

Deutsche Version weiter unten…

We will hold this year’s OE5-SOTA Day on Saturday, September 19, 2015 in the Phyrn-Priel Region of OE5. Anybody interested in SOTA is welcome to join the fun! The plan is to activate summits in this area. Please post your planned activations on SOTAWatch and try to spread out to different summits. There are plenty in this area and it should be easy to find one that fits to your skills and interests.

We will then gather at Gasthof Niesl, A-4572 St. Pankraz 5, see: www.gasthaus-niesl.at at around 15.00 local time for a Get-Together. After having food and beer and the obligatory group picture we will have some SOTA related presentations. The meeting is open end.

A note to VHF Operators: The OE5 SOTA Day naturally creates a lot of traffic on 2m FM. We want to follow the policy to call on 145.500 MHz and then immediately move to another working frequency and keep the calling frequency clear. There are lots of opportunities for S2S QSOs during SOTA Day and a clear calling frequency should enable all activators to get attention to their activation.

If you have specific questions or need help with planning your trip please contact either Peter, OE5AUL, Martin, OE5REO or myself.

Der alljährliche OE5 SOTA DAY findet heuer am Samstag, 19. September 2015 in der Region
Pyhrn-Priel statt.

andere, freie QRG machen.

gemütlichen Ausklang des OE5 SOTA DAY beim

Gasthof Niesl
4572 St. Pankraz 5
www.gasthaus-niesl.at

Just a reminder that OE5-SOTA-Day is approaching. There are already 18 Alerts on SotaWatch! The weather forecast is mixed, overcast, mostly dry, but cold.

We still miss some international visitors. Anybody interested in joining the fun not just on-air?

Now it’s official … our OE5-SOTA-Day will take place as planned on September, 19th.
The weather-forecast for Saturday is getting better from day to day. I’m looking forward
to a lot of S2S-QSO’s and to the meeting at Gasthof Niesl in the afternoon.

I am preparing for tomorrow’s OE Sota event eating Austrian Mountain Cheese (Bergkäse) for getting the best possible physical and mental spirit beforehand. Hopefully you could operate also in 10 and 14 MHz if wx in 7 MHz is not good enough.

Wonderful, I like it both the cheese and the statement.

Would be nice to hear you on 10 or 14 MHz

For my part I plan to operate on 7 - 28 MHz in CW, but because of OE5-SOTA-Day I will also bring a microphone! So you might also hear me on SSB, a rare occassion!

Of course I will take part at this event accompanied both at the activation and at the meeting afterwards by my 8-years old “three letters” grandsun, who is keen on hiking.
