It would be fun to make a paraset replica and activate with it, I believe they weighed about the same as an FT817 - and I just checked and I have all the necessary parts…hmm!

Nice idea - I looked at this too - but it is CW only, I think.

Yes, CW only, but I think a small mod and a simple AF amp and you could apply grid modulation at the cost of reducing output. I haven’t played with a regenerative detector for years, the idea is getting quite attractive!
