Dave @G7SAT and I have been planning this for some time. Speaking personally, it’s probably going to be a once in a lifetime opportunity, as I doubt I will be back. Though never say never.
Training has involved brushing up on my navigation skills courtesy of TfL and Trainline and learning golf courtesy of retirement and my brother-in-law. After much consideration wrt suitable protective clothing, I have finally settled on a natty little ensemble from M&S, Next and Clarks, which I believe will be comfortable yet still allow me access to any high street pub or cafe. Equipment wise, I’m going for stealth with a KX2 in walky-talky mode paired with a compromise(d?) extendable whip.
Not sure I know what else to say except:

Well, I take it all back. The forecast rain held off, great company thanks Dave. AND we had a trans-Atlantic QSO. Not bad (I thought) on 10W 20m SSB into an AX1 short whip. The worst part of the day was when the cafe at the station could only provide ketchup to go with my sausage bap for breakfast! Back to civilisation (where they know what colour sauce goes with what) tomorrow.
