Q-MAC, like their fellow Australian manufacturers, Codan, make excellent radios. The price new is eye-wateringly large though. I’ve never seen an HF-90 come up for sale privately. However, Codan gear is often for sale on eBay etc. I’ve got 2 Codan HF sets, an X2 and an 8525B. Both are indestructable in use and work exceedingly well. The downside is they are designed for fixed frequency working and don’t have VFO facilities. Not a problem for 60m operation, but definitely awkward when it comes to other amateur bands.

Just shows how lucky we are to get our kit so cheap (possibly subsidised by commercial equipment sales) - yet many still complain!!

Keeping eyes open for used Codan etc. kit!
