Hi Paolo,
Congratulations on a successful first SOTA activation and thanks for a great write-up. Really enjoyed looking at the photos too.
Well done for being brave on making your first CQ SOTA call by cw. I remember that “deep-breath” moment very well!
Wishing you many more succesful activations and perhaps one day we’ll have a S2S QSO.
73 and Merry Christmas,
Matthew M0JSB
Great post Paolo. I am looking forward to getting you in my log on CW. Give 20, 15, 17 or 10 on CW, I think you will be pleasantly surprised.

Congrats and Welcome!
Also a great summit, and one where I learned some lessons! I did the hike with fellow grad students in summer and we all ran out of water in 100 degree weather by the time we hit the summit. I learned what thirst was on that day! Glad it happened when we weren’t that far from civilization but was scary enough for me to be sure it never happened again! Don’t let the “too much” water lesson you discussed push you too far in the other direction ![]()
Hope you have many more successful activations and ‘73

Hvala Karlo! Pozdrav!
Welcome to SOTA activating… it’s addictive! Coming up on 15 years for me and I still love it, despite living on a wet and windy north Atlantic island.
Welcome, Paolo.
Hope to get you in the log soon.
