New portable radio

I saw this on the internet about a month ago, and I was directed to a website in the UK that is supposed to handle the import of their stuff.

It’s named Sinotel, but they didn’t have this item listed, so I enquired via them, but have had no reply.

I wouldn’t recommend being an early adopter but maybe after a year or so…

It depends whether they copied a 1st or 2nd release KX2 doesn’t it!

:grinning:

Agreed, I’m not in the market for a new radio at the moment, but it would have been nice to have seen a live one.

What info there is seems to suggest the RX is a double conversion superhet with a crystal filter in the 1st IF and presumably a low 2nd IF for DSP? The display looks like it has been photoshop’d from an Icom rig. Looks very suspect at the moment … Power consumption on RX will be interesting. Fun to keep a watch on though.

There is a Facebook group for the Xiegu X108G and X5105. More photos and videos. Some people have the new radio.

There is also an upgraded X108G that includes a spectrum display.
