New call sign for me - MW0WML

Hi all,

Just got the “pass letter” and applied for my new callsign. Tried all sorts of combinations and couldn’t get what I really wanted, but in the end I settled for WML (Winter Mountain Leader) as my friend Barry has IML (International Mountain Leader).

Might end up being a mistake as I now have MW0WML… MW followed by WM. Also I may cause some “chaser” fun with MW0IML and MW0WML both activating in North Wales a fair bit!

Anyway, it’s done now.

Big thanks to the North Wales Radio Society in Colwyn Bay for facilitating my exam.

In reply to MW0WML:
Very well done Gerald - I am sorry I ‘nicked’ the IML call.
But, you can always use my call on any 10 pointers that you activate hi.

Again many congratulations.

Barry

In reply to MW0IML:

He can use any call he has permission to use and the points go to Gerald not to the holder of the callsign.

In reply to M0YDH:

Well done Gerald… like I don’t have enough problems with callsigns already (often my own hi hi)

In reply to G7LAS:

Not to mention confusion with MW0MWL, Dave in Cardiff who chased my activation of The Myarth, GW/SW-035, today!

Well done in getting the full licence.

In reply to M0JLA:
Thanks everyone.

Hopefully try the new call out on Snowdon GW/NW-001 on Sunday. I’m up with a big group so it will have to be “smash and grab” while they take pictures of themselves and enjoy the delights of the summit cafe (if it is open).
