On July 11, 2026, I reached another memorable milestone in my SOTA journey.

I earned my 14th Mountain Goat by reaching 14,000 SOTA points while activating HL/CB-014 Songnisan, the very summit where I completed my first-ever SOTA activation.

This achievement feels especially meaningful because it brings my SOTA journey full circle. What began with my first activation on Songnisan has grown into years of hiking, activating summits, and making thousands of contacts with chasers and activators around the world.

There was also an interesting coincidence. The summit reference is HL/CB-014, I reached 14,000 points, and this became my 14th Mountain Goat. I didn’t plan it that way, but the number 14 appears throughout this milestone, making it even more memorable.

Many thanks to everyone who has worked me over the years. Your support and contacts have made this achievement possible.

I look forward to many more safe and enjoyable activations.

That’s a real goat herd. That must be some kind of record. Looks like you’ve been SOTA for 8 years. That’s almost 2 goats per year. I assume you’re retired :slight_smile:

I was so thrilled to find out that we have shared 252 QSOs together so far. It is an incredible honor to have you chase me for my 14th Mountain Goat as well!

Hearing your voice from so far away, especially on 21MHz, always gives me a huge boost and inspires me to do even more activations. Thank you for always being there across the immense distance. Looking forward to our next QSO toward the 15th Goat!
