Monte Terminillo I/LZ-305

Last Wednesday was the perfect day in the mountains, with my friend Paolo we climbed in winter style with crampons and ice axe on Mount Terminillo I/LZ-305 (2216 mt.). We climbed up what is called the central channel and in about an hour and a half we reached the summit. A cold and strong wind limited my radio activity, only 14 qso made in the 30 meter CW band and 20 Meter Ssb but the summit was activated. We descended via the normal route and then excellent beer and polenta at the refuge !

Here are some photos , hope you will like it

There is too much blue in the sky, it’s not healthy for you.

Terminillo was the object of a famous anecdotes. Once Isaac Hayes had a concert in Rome and he went on stage with the usual bunch of chains he used to carry as a part of his image, and someone shouted at him: “Ahò, ma che sei sceso dar Terminillo?” (“Hey, did you just come down from the Terminillo?”).

Ciao Andrea,

Thank you for sharing this report and pictures, really interesting to see and brought back memories for me, when I climbed this peak many years ago.

There is a great shot of Gran Sasso in the background !
