Attached below is my activation report for Moel y Gamelin, GW/NW-042, earlier this week.

Nice contact into Scotland (around 230km).

Did you use Vertical or Horizontal polarisation. I suspect the missed one with GW0PLP was due to polarisation difference but there is a bit of solid matter in the way too.

I was using vertical polarisation. Interestingly, I worked the same GM station last week from GW/NW-043 but on FM.

Thanks for the 2m FM contact Paul. I must come and do these two summits one day!

I don’t have SSB capability at home so I have taken to listening on G0XBU’s websdr near Jodrell Bank. Don GW0PLP was very slightly audible initially but couldn’t hear him after that.

The parking spot is well located to do both summits in the same day. I would guess just under an hours drive for you, knowing roughly where you are.

Yeah there did seem to be some QSB, he was initially 51 with me, then dropped to 44.
